Tucked into the rolling hills of Corbin, Kentucky, Old Kentucky Logs is a small family business with a big dream: bringing the timeless beauty of historic log cabins to modern homes-without the upkeep real wood demands.
Our story begins with Walt Smith, who grew up working in his father’s sawmill long before most kids were allowed near heavy machinery. A lifetime spent around timber sharpened his eye for detail, and years later, while running Antiques & Accents with his wife, Bobbi, another idea took root. Surrounded by concrete statuary and old hand-hewn wood, Walt began imagining a way to recreate the look of 150-year-old Appalachian logs in a durable, maintenance-free material. That spark of inspiration led to what would become our patented concrete log siding system-an innovation that earned statewide recognition in Kentucky’s Big Idea Competition.
